ShotTempering kicked off

The ShotTempering project, coordinated by i2m Unternehmensentwicklung GmbH, started on the 1st of July 2024 and will run for 42 months.​​

As with the use of Electric vehicles (EVs) the energy consumption and CO2 emissions can be significantly reduced the ShotTempering project contributes to the European Green Deal  (= 90 % reduction in transport emissions by 2050) by developing novel approaches in the production process like shot peening at elevated temperatures to substanially enhance component performance.​​ That will not only boost the overall efficiency of the process chain in terms of energy consumption, resource utilization, and time savings but also significantly enhance the mechanical properties of manufactured parts, particularly their fatigue resistance.
