The 14th International Fatigue Congress (IFC14) was held from 29 June to 3 July 2026 in Funchal, bringing together leading researchers, engineers, and industry experts from around the world to discuss the latest advances in fatigue, durability, and structural integrity of materials and components.

As part of the conference program, project partner KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) presented the latest results from the ShotTempering project. The presentation, entitled “Optimization of the Warm Peening Process for Inductive Hardened Samples of C55 using the Concept of Local Fatigue Strength”, highlighted research aimed at enhancing the fatigue performance of inductively hardened C55 steel components.

The participation of KIT at IFC14 underlines the project’s strong scientific foundation and its relevance to the international fatigue research community. The conference also offered valuable opportunities for networking and discussing future collaborations with experts working on advanced surface treatment technologies and fatigue assessment methods.
