Significant progress has been achieved in the project, with two key tasks of WP2 successfully completed.

The three production routes—case hardening, quenching and tempering, and induction hardening—were defined, and the corresponding steel grades, 27MnCr5, 42CrMo4, and C55, were selected based on their suitability for the technical requirements of each route. This step was considered crucial to ensure that the materials meet the performance demands of the project demonstrators.

Second, Sidenor I+D produced and supplied the selected steel grades under the agreed conditions, providing the necessary materials for the next stages of the project. In addition, Sidenor I+D have already initiated the characterization of these base steels.

These achievements represent significant progress in the project and set the stage for further advancement toward its objectives.
